TCU Energy Institute hosting Natural Gas Vehicles Symposium

TCU Energy Institute and the Barnett Shale Energy Education Council are hosting Green Fleets: The Future is Now, an all-day symposium focused on natural gas on Wednesday, June 17 at TCU’s Kelly Alumni Center.
This symposium is designed for fleet managers and other transportation decision-makers across the North Texas region. Speakers will lay out the compelling case for using natural gas vehicles for fleets and provide the nuts and bolts on how to make the switch from diesel or regular gasoline.
The symposium’s co-hosts are the Fort Worth Chamber of Commerce, City of Fort Worth, and the North Central Texas Council of Governments.
Among the guest speakers are Stephen Yborra with the Clean Vehicle Education Foundation, Gloria Vaughn with the EPA Blue Skyways Collaboration, Ron Anderson with the Fort Worth “T” and James Green with DFW Airport. The keynote speakers at the luncheon are Ann Reeves and Eric Woods with Waste Management Inc., the leading provider of comprehensive waste and environmental services in North America. Waste Management has replaced nearly 500 of its diesel-fueled trucks with vehicles that run on 100 percent natural gas and has invested in major initiatives to reduce greenhouse emissions.
Elizabeth Munger, an alternative fuels consultant for Honda, and Susan Cleaver with Cummins Southern Plains, an engine distributor, will present equipment options and cost. Reagan Noll with Clean Energy Fuels, North America’s largest provider of natural gas for transportation, and Jared Hightower with Greenfield Compression, a natural gas vehicle manufacturer, will present fueling options. Mindy Mize and Carrie Reese with the North Central Texas Council of Governments will discuss the federal and state tax credits and grants that exist as incentives for fleets to switch to natural gas.
Ron Anderson with the Fort Worth “T” and James Green from DFW Airport will present local case studies. Each will discuss his organization’s transition to the use of natural gas for bus fleets.
