Berry gift establishes Professional Leadership Program for TCU business students

Fort Worth, TX
10/28/2009

The Neeley School of Business announces a $300,000 gift from TCU alumni Marilyn and Mike Berry to establish Neeley Premium Credentials™, a distinctive leadership program open to all undergraduate TCU business students.

“This gift is especially significant since Marilyn and Mike Berry have modeled leadership throughout their professional and civic lives, and the Neeley School of Business at TCU has a tradition of offering innovative leadership programs for its undergraduate business students,” said O. Homer Erekson, John V. Roach Dean of the Neeley School. “This leadership gift from the Berrys will give graduates of the Neeley School a strong professional development base and a clear advantage with employers regionally and nationally.”

Neeley Premium Credentials™ will be a multi-tiered credentialing program for undergraduate TCU business students to give them the critical skills identified by employers as necessary to succeed in today’s business environment. Neeley Premium Credentials™ will provide students with targeted personal development designed to guide students throughout their three years in the Neeley School, and facilitate a successful transition from college to career.

“Marilyn and I are excited to support this innovative program for the Neeley School,” noted Mike Berry. “Not only will TCU business students have the opportunity to develop professional skills sought after by employers, they will be able to choose a personal discovery plan to develop advanced skills in communication, leadership and global awareness.”

Marilyn Berry is a 1986 graduate of the Harris College of Nursing at TCU, while Mike Berry received his MBA from the Neeley School in 1982. Mike Berry is president of Hillwood Properties and is a member of the Neeley International Board of Visitors.
