Radio-TV-Film students win awards

Fort Worth, TX
4/27/2006

Two student projects from TCU’s radio-tv-film (RTVF) department have received awards in the national Accolade Competition. The competition recognizes professionals who demonstrate outstanding craft and creativity in film, video, television and commercials.

Tuscania, a short film produced by students studying abroad in Italy last summer, received a 2006 Award of Excellence for a short film. The pilot episode of RTVF’s Southern Comforts, an original soap opera created by TCU students, received an Honorable Mention for television.

“These awards are very significant to our department and students,” said Richard Allen, associate professor and department chair of RTVF. “The judging standards are high and winning means the craft exhibited by your entry is outstanding and above other productions.”

RTVF will receive certificates and statuettes for both awards from the Accolade Competition.
