Dr. Ralph Behnke is a Professor of Speech Communication at TCU. Prior
to coming to the university in 1974, he taught and was the head of the
Communication Research Laboratory at Missouri State University. He also
taught at Florida State University, the University of Texas, the University of
Kansas and the University of Wisconsin. Dr. Behnke received his doctorate
from the University of Kansas, a master's degree from the University of
Wisconsin and a bachelor's degree from the University of Missouri. He has
been published over 125 times in publications such as Communications
Quarterly, Communication Reports, Communication Education and the Mensa
Research Journal. He has created training materials and presented to
many organizations and businesses, including the National Communication
Association and law enforcement agencies. He is a recipient of the
Chancellor's Award for Distinguished Research and Creative Activity, ranked
11th in the United States in research productivity (Communication
Monographs, 2001) and has been the top research paper for the National
Communication Association.
