Dr. Chris Sawyer (Ph.D., University of North Texas) is Chair of the Communication Studies Department and director of the Basic Communication course. Much of Dr. Sawyer's research is related to communication education and instructional technology, which he has put to use in making TCU's basic course one of the most exciting and innovative in the nation. It will soon be a requirement for all TCU students. Dr. Sawyer is also involved in graduate instruction and is a prominent expert on the psychological mechanisms related to communication.
