Students move into new residence halls

Fort Worth, TX
8/17/2007

More than 300 TCU upperclassmen will begin living the suite life in two of four new residence halls constructed in the center of campus. With a little help from parents, siblings and sometimes friends, students will begin moving into Amon G. Carter Hall and Kellye Wright Samuelson Hall, Saturday. Construction on the residences, designed to be apartment-style with individual bedrooms and bathrooms, began in May 2006. Both halls have multiple common lounges for study and student activities.

The Amon G. Carter Foundation named the Carter residence hall in honor of Amon G. Carter.  TCU Board of Trustee member Robert J. Wright and his wife, Mary Wright, named the Kellye Wright Samuelson hall in memory of their daughter, an accomplished Dallas artist and interior designer. The other two new suite-style residence halls will open in January.
